After nearly 2 centuries of Coal Mining, Why is Reclamation more important than ever?

The Reclamation Process involves the cleaning up and removal of millions of tons of coal left behind from over nearly 200 years of mining coal. Many of these Gobs (abandoned piles of coal) are entirely to close to homes, endangering the health of millions of people. There are literally thousands of these sites all across America. With coal having over 25 harmful chemicals within, this is leaching into our various aquifers Deadly poisons: mercury, uranium, thorium, arsenic, and selenium can be found in water sources when Gob is left behind. AGE will recover the Gob and reclaim the land towards sustainability.

Coal and Water Pollution

More Information

Lakes, rivers, streams, and drinking water supplies are all heavily impacted by coal mines. Coal is more often associated with billowing smokestacks than it is with water. But virtually every stage of coal’s lifecycle—from mining to processing to burning—can impact local water supplies, sometimes with devastating effect.

(AGE) Advance Green Energy is working with (AML) Abandoned Mine Lands a government organization working to alleviate these horribly dangerous problems.

There is still a extremely strong demand throughout the world for coal to produce electricity, and the hotter it gets on earth with our changing climate the more coal is needed to keep the air-conditioning on so people will not die in record breaking heat waves like there are today. We are all wanting coal to go away but we can't just flip a switch and make alternative energy do the job that coal does so well. In reality it will take another 12 to 15 years to achieve this goal.

That's the reason why when AGE recovers the coal left behind it is treated with our state of the art product, called Treated Coal™.
